The mishap forced Jonas Eidevall's side to remain in Germany for one extra night after putting on a spirited fight to draw with Wolfsburg away.
Wolfsburg W vs Arsenal W
The Gunners came back from two goals down after Ewa Pajor and Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir had capitalised on defensive mistakes to put Wolfsburg in the lead.
Arsenal rallied back with goals from Rafaelle Souza and Stina Blackstenius to balance their tie ahead of the second leg at the Emirates Stadium next month.
It was a good showing for the English side, considering Eidevall has had to do without his key players this season due to long-term injuries. Leah Williamson recently joined Kim Little, Viviane Miedema and Bethany Mead on the sidelines.
In regard to the aircraft incident, the club has issued a statement.
"As a result, we remained in Wolfsburg overnight on Sunday before flying back to England on Monday afternoon. We would like to thank the staff onboard the aircraft and on the ground at the airport for their assistance," as quoted by Goal.
Madrid waltz past Cadiz ahead of Chelsea clash
FootballArsenal W will now focus on the second leg before returning to Women's Super League action.
Should they beat Wolfsburg, they will face the winner of the tie between Barcelona and Chelsea. The former has a slender 1-0 first-leg lead.
Manchester City vs Arsenal
On the men's side, Martin Odegaard will meet with international compatriot, Erling Haaland when Arsenal face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on April 26.
Sports Brief reported that this has been billed as the game of the season, with the result promising to have severe implications for both teams' EPL title ambitions.
In essence, a defeat would be more damaging to Arsenal, who have seen their lead at the top of the table cut to just seven, with Man City having two games in hand.
