Aaron Wan-Bissaka has earned rare plaudits from Premier League rival, James Maddison following his display during Manchester United's FA Cup clash against Brighton.

Wan-Bissaka formed part of the makeshift defence that Erik ten Hag assembled for the semi-final cracker played at Wembley Stadium on April 23.

The England international was deployed in the right-back position, with Diogo Dalot moving to the left as Luke Shaw partnered Victor Lindelof at the heart of defence.

Sportbible reports Wan-Bissaka was among the players who earned rare praise from fans and pundits for his match-winning performance.

The right-back was in top shape during the clash as he silenced in-form Brighton winger, Kaoru Mitoma for large spells of the tie.

James Maddison hails Wan-Bissaka

Maddison, a Premier League rival to Wan-Bissaka, could not help but shower the Man United full-back with praises after the match.

The Leicester City star took to social media to hail his fellow Englishman as the 'best in the world' and went on to describe how so many wingers struggled against him.

"AWB is ridiculously good at 1 v 1 defending. Probably the best in the world, bar none," Maddison posted. "So many wingers run out of ideas when playing directly against him."

Wan-Bissaka's resurgence comes at a time when it had become apparent he could be moving on from the squad ten Hag is assembling.

However, the ex-Crystal Palace star has gone on to establish himself as a key player for the Dutchman.

Casemiro's instructions to De Gea

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Casemiro giving apparent penalty instructions to goalkeeper, David de Gea during the FA Cup clash against Brighton.

However, it was how Man United's Brazilian midfielder delivered his impassioned message that sparked reactions from fans across social media.

De Gea failed to save any of Brighton's spot kicks, but the Red Devils still emerged as the victors, thanks to Victor Lindelof and his winning strike.
