  • Napoli secured a win over Juventus with a last-minute goal from Giacomo Raspadori
  • The win moved the Neapolitans 17 points clear of second-placed SS Lazio in Serie A
  • Luciano Spalletti's men could be crowned champions next week if things go their way

Giacomo Raspadori rescued all three points for Napoli against Juventus last night, to help the team move 17 points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

The Neapolitans have been the best side in the division this season but suffered a dip in the past weeks, with losses against AC Milan also culminating in their UEFA Champions League elimination.

The result against Juventus underlined Napoli's performances this season, with the Italian side dominant but still battling hard for the result, with the Old Lady having two goals disallowed.

According to AS English, the Partenopei could be crowned champions for the first time since 1990 if they beat Salernitana in the Derby della Campania and Lazio does not beat Inter Milan.

There are seven games and 21 points left to play for - Lazio dropping points would see Napoli 19 points clear with six games left, making it mathematically impossible to catch them.

Raspadori elated after scoring winner

Goal-scorer, Giacomo Raspadori was ecstatic after his goal secured the win for Napoli.

He had previously promised the fans the Naples outfit would bounce back after their dismal Champions League elimination.

"I am shaking; we wanted it so much and Juve created a lot of problems, but we believed to the very end," Raspadori told DAZN, via Football Italia.

Allegri aims dig at referee

After the same game, Juventus head coach, Massimiliano Allegri was seemingly unimpressed with referee, Michael Fabbri but urged his team to accept the decisions and the result.

"We need to stay calm, accept as we always have done the refereeing decisions - good or bad. Otherwise, we waste energy because we cannot change the result now. The referee was very good today. I congratulate him on his performance," he told DAZN, via Tribal Football.

Spalletti threatens resignation over protests

Sports Brief earlier reported on Napoli head coach, Luciano Spalletti threatening to walk away if the fans' protest at their home stadium continued.

There has been increasing tension at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona between the side's ultras and club president, Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Spalletti urged the fans to end the hostility which he said had affected results at home, suggesting he would step down if the protests continued.
