  • Arsenal's title hopes appear to be fading after three successive draws
  • The Gunners dropped points against Liverpool and West Ham and fought for one point against Southampton
  • They face a run of four difficult fixtures starting with title challengers Manchester City

Arsenal will have to do more than the ordinary in their next four games if they want to win the 2022/23 Premier League title next month.

The Gunners have slipped up recently, having picked up just three points in their last three games - three successive draws against Liverpool, West Ham, and relegation-threatened Southampton.

Mikel Arteta's men surrendered two-goal leads against the Reds and the Hammer, despite racing into the lead within 30 minutes and 10 minutes, respectively.

It was a different tale with the same result against the bottom-placed Saints. They wrestled back from 3-1 down to secure a 3-3 draw, with goals from captain Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka rescuing the points at Emirates, as reported by Athletic UK.

Sports Brief looks at the Gunners' next four games and how it could make or mar their already destabilised season, including a cracking encounter against Manchester City.

Manchester City (A)

This is the biggest of them all. Pep Guardiola's team are five points behind Arsenal but have two games in hand. A win for the Citizens will move them within two points and their outstanding games advantage.

Chelsea (H)

A week after traveling to City. Arsenal will welcome their London rivals Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium. This looks like an easy encounter due to Chelsea's stuttering form, but considering it is a derby, it is a difficult one.

Newcastle United (A)

One of the toughest teams in the league this season - Newcastle under Eddie Howe, are fighting to secure Champions League football next season. According to NBC Sports, the first leg ended in a draw and won't be an easy encounter for the Gunners.

Brighton (H)

Brighton, under Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi, have been a different side. They are dominant in possession, create a lot of chances, and fire many shots at the opponent's goal. This would be another tough test for Arsenal.

Rooney advise Arsenal about City game

Sports Brief reported that Wayne Rooney tells Arsenal what to do to ensure they come out victorious against Manchester City on Wednesday.

The Manchester United legend highlighted Erling Haaland as a significant challenge and pointed at injured defender William Saliba as the only one who can neutralise his threat.

Unfortunately, Saliba is injured. Rooney told the Gunners to impose their own game on their opponent if they want to come out of the encounter with anything.
