Carlos Alcaraz opened the scoring for the visitors just seconds into the kick-off before former Arsenal ace Theo Walcott doubled the advantage for the Saints in the 14th minute.

While Gabriel Martinelli went on to draw one back for the hosts in the 20th minute, Southampton restored their two-goal advantage in the 66th minute via Duje Caleta-Car.

The visitors looked on course to sink Arsenal, only for Odegaard and Saka to score late on to earn their side a 3-3 draw.

Arsenal stars in tears

Emotions got the better of Arsenal stars after the full-time whistle, as they were spotted in tears shortly after the match.

Odegaard was among the Arsenal stars who were pictured dejected as it dawned on them they were on the verge of bottling the league.

According to The Sun, substitute Reiss Nelson also collapsed to the ground in despair, while Gabriel Magalhaes was also on his knees in frustration.

Whereas Arteta's men have a five-point advantage over second-placed Man City, they still have to contend with a trip to the Etihad and a clash against rivals Chelsea before the season ends.

Additionally, City, who are the defending champions, now have two games in hand as the campaign enters its homestretch.

Thierry Henry advises Arsenal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Thierry Henry has advised Arsenal on what they have to do to beat Manchester City to this season's Premier League title.

The two English top flight giants are currently the firm favourites to lift this season's trophy after an epic title race.

Weeks ago, Arsenal looked on course to conquer the Premier League for the first time in close to two decades, following their incredible run of form under Mikel Arteta.
