  • More details have continued to stream in over the circumstances Thomas Tuchel left Chelsea under
  • The German manager was relieved of his duties in early September, with Graham Potter immediately replacing him
  • It has previously been said that he disagreed on off-pitch issues with the new ownership

The sacking of Thomas Tuchel by Chelsea is a story that continues to elicit reactions despite it happening in September last year.

For any club, 6 months plus is a long time to have moved on, but the Tuchel name continues to hang around Stamford Bridge and especially haunts Chelsea owners, who are most probably regretting sacking him.

Nothing has gone to plan ever since the Champions League winner was sacked and Graham Potter took his place. Heck, two other managers have since come after Potter as Chelsea languishes in the bottom half of the table with no trophy or European qualification to end their season.

A lot of reasons were given for the dismissal of the German, with Todd Boehly at one point insinuating that the on-pitch results had little to do with the decision. Admittedly, they had just lost to Leeds United, Southampton and Dinamo Zagreb, but the feeling was rife that Tuchel was still the man for the job.

The Boehly and Tuchel incident

As the Mirror reports, it has now emerged that Boehly was infuriated after Tuchel denied him access to the dressing during a half-time game against West Ham. The game was level at that time and the American owner is said to have taken his guests, including his children, to the dressing room - a move Tuchel rejected.

Boehly was forced to return to his seat and a few days later, he sent Tuchel packing. The West Ham game was Tuchel's last in the Premier League as Chelsea boss.

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager has since moved to Bayern Munich, with Chelsea ironically eyeing Julian Nagelsmann to take over from Potter on a permanent basis.

Nagelsmann could be new Chelsea coach

Sports Brief has also reported that the search for Chelsea's next manager could be over if the latest hint from Julian Nagelsmann's partner is anything to go by.

Nagelsmann has been the perceived frontrunner for the Stamford Bridge job after the sacking of Graham Potter two weeks ago.

The club's board brought in Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard on an interim basis as they undertook an exhaustive process to find a permanent replacement.
