Social media reactions

@GNev2 tweeted:

"Maguire will get battered but that pass from DeGea I wouldn’t like!"

@1doddy83 posted:

"Both at fault . Asking for the pass, making the pass and no shout to turn which would of simply taken 3 of them out. 3 errors in 3 seconds"

@ffsDH_70 tweeted:

"Not at all Maguire’s fault there. Really feel for him. Football and Utd fans especially have to support him through this difficult time. Keep sticking with him. Solid player in there"

@dalelamb288 added:

"Maguire totally at fault. This love in with Maguire that pundits seem to have is baffling. He's no where near good enough for United."

@Haishian98 posted:

"This is 101 football. A perfect pass from De Gea. All Maguire needed to do was to let the ball roll and would have taken out 3 Sevilla players out of the play."

@KBeltonMUFC tweeted:

"Maguire could have played the ball back earlier to De Gea to give him more time. A disgrace that he’s paid to play football, let alone be our captain"

How Sevilla eliminated United

Manchester United crashed out of the Europa League in shambolic fashion on Thursday with Sevilla beating them 3-0, to reach the semi-finals 5-2 on aggregate, Sports Brief reported.

Harry Maguire endured another as he gave the ball away on the edge of his own area and Youssef En-Nesyri pounced to break the deadlock early on.

Loic Bade headed home the second from a corner in the first minute of the second half, before En-Nesyri rolled home his second goal into an empty net after United goalkeeper David de Gea put the ball on a plate for him with a mishit clearance while outside his area.
