According to Goal, the decision was arrived at after it emerged that Juve had undertaken some irregularities in some of their transfers.

While Juve denied any wrongdoing at the time, they were still slapped with the points deduction, with the decision throwing their chances of qualifying for the Champions League into disarray.

Since the decision was made, the Serie A giants have faced hurdles in their bid to break into the top four, with a string of poor performances initially threatening their chances of playing on the big stage next season.

Juve awarded back 15 points

However, the Turin-based club can finally breathe a sigh of relief after the decision was reversed by Italian football chiefs.

The Mirror reports that the Max Allegri-tutored side saw their Serie A penalty quashed pending a new trial.

The latest development saw Juve climb to third with 59 in the Serie A standings, with Roma dropping to fourth with 56 points.

AC Milan and rivals Inter were the worst hit after the move, with the former effectively dropping to fifth in the standings.

Inter, meanwhile, now sit sixth in the standings with 51 points, five points off the top four.

Juve ace in tears after sub

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli was inconsolable on the bench after a costly mistake that led to his side’s 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo.

The 22-year-old made a poor clearance which was pounced on by Sassuolo sub-Gregoire Defrel, who fired in a goal after 64 minutes.

Juventus endured a frustrating evening on Sunday, April 16, and were unable to find the net, with the defeat leaving them four points adrift of a Champions League place.

Fagioli will surely know the cost of his poor clearance, as he was spotted on the bench in tears after manager Massimiliano Allegri decided to haul him off immediately after the mistake.
