Barcelona president, Joan Laporta is embarking on a peace mission as the Catalan club tries to get into the good books of the European football governing body, UEFA.

Barca, which has incurred the wrath of UEFA with their European Super League plans, are also under investigation by the football body following the Casa Negreira scandal rocking the club.

According to Barca Universal, Laporta is now set to meet with UEFA President, Aleksander Ceferin in Slovenia to douse the flames created by the refereering scandal.

The Barcelona president may also talk about Lionel Messi and the club’s intention to re-sign the forward in the coming summer, with his current Paris Saint-Germain deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Final on the agenda is reportedly is the issue of the European Super League, with Laporta keen to reach a compromise with the UEFA president, who has constantly blasted the league as a concept.

Details of Barcelona’s Messi offer

Meanwhile, Barcelona plans to offer Messi a contract worth up to four times less than his previous contract with the Catalan club, Daily Mail reports.

The La Liga leaders will look to hand the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner a contract worth an estimated £22 million a a year in a substantial wage cut.

Barcelona's proposed contract would bind Messi to his former club for two years, with an option for the Argentine star to opt out after the first year.

Barcelona moving from Camp Nou

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Barcelona confirming they intend to continue with plans to play their 2023/24 season away from their traditional home stadium, Camp Nou.

The Catalan giants are set to play the next two seasons at the Estadi Lluis Companys while they begin renovation work at the home ground, which houses over 90,000 fans.

Barcelona confirmed the first phase of the process of moving home grounds had begun on April 19 and details of the revamped Camp Nou are set to be revealed in due course.
