FootballAC Milan Eye Move for Embattled Manchester United Striker Mason Greenwood
- AC Milan are reportedly keen on signing Mason Greenwood from Manchester United
- Greenwood's contract runs until 2025, even as the club conducts its own internal investigations
- The striker has in the past met United's bosses as he attempts to clear his name of any wrongdoing
Mason Greenwood could soon be provided with a way back to professional football after it emerged that AC Milan are interested in signing him this summer.
Greenwood has not played a single minute of football for over a year now after he was suspended by Manchester United following the sexual assault claims levelled against him.
With the dropping of charges by the Crown Prosecution Services in February, the path was cleared for the striker to make a comeback to football. United, however, declined to rush the process and promised to undertake internal processes before providing a way forward.
The 21-year-old has been receiving his weekly salary while on suspension and is contracted to the club until 2025. Sport Bible reports that European heavyweights AC Milan are plotting a move for the striker as soon as he is cleared by his club.

There have been jitters in the club that should Greenwood be cleared, he won't be accepted by his colleagues, with Manchester United's Women's team reportedly against the move.
A chance to move abroad could offer him an opportunity to revitalise his career. AC Milan will be in the market for new strikers, with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic approaching the end of their careers. Divock Origi is yet to impress fully.
Background story of Greenwood's issues
Sports Brief has previously reported that Greenwood's downward spiral has to be one of the most heartbreaking stories of modern-day football, depending on who you ask.

But more interestingly are his strong words which again, depending on who you ask, can be deemed as inappropriate, arrogant or overly confident depending on how you look at it.
