Real Madrid star Federico Valverde could miss up to twelve matches after allegedly punching Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena following their La Liga clash earlier this month.
The Uruguayan reportedly came to blows with the Spaniard following Madrid's 3-2 loss at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, April 8.
According to Marca, Valverde punched Baena at the car park for allegedly making remarks about his then-unborn child during the teams' January Copa del Rey matchup with Villarreal.
Valverde’s partner had a stillbirth scare, but everything turned out okay.

The reports further added that during the match, Baena said to Valverde, “cry now that your son is not going to be born,” after fouling him during the Copa match.
The Real Madrid midfielder subsequently opted to take matters into his own hands, punching the Spain Under-21 midfielder as he attempted to get onto the team bus.
Valverde to miss 12 games
And according to Spanish outlet Relevo, Valverde has landed in big trouble with La Liga as he could miss between four and 12 matches for his attack on Baena. The reports however added that the punishment will not be handed out imminently.
Valverde would be available for selection in the Copa Del Rey Final, which is scheduled to take place on May 6, if it turns out that a final decision on the length of the ban will be made in about six weeks.
