Former Nigerian international Taye Taiwo has clocked 38 as the ex-Super Eagles defender celebrates his birthday in style.

The sensational left-back and his twin were born on April 16, 1985, and are now celebrating, another special day.

Photos have flooded the social media space showing the player and his wife, the Nimota, together with their two beautiful children.

Club Career

He had his youth career with local clubs Gabros and Lobi Stars, before moving to Europe to join the French club Olympique Marseille.

After six years, he made a mega move to Italian Serie A giants AC Milan, but after just four matches for the Rossoneri, he was sent on loan to Queens Park Rangers and later Dynamo Kyiv.

He later had stints with clubs in Finland, Sweden and Cyprus.

International Career

Taye Taiwo grew through the ranks. In 2005, he was part of the Nigeria U20 team at the FIFA World Youth Championship.

He helped Nigeria reach the final of the tournament as they narrowly lost 2-1 to Argentina, courtesy of two goals by Lionel Messi.

Following the tournament, he was named the third-best player in the tournament behind Mikel John Obi and Lionel Messi.

He had previously made his debut for the national team when Nigeria lost 2-1 to South Africa in November 2004.

Taye Taiwo was in the CAF Team of the Year on four occasions - 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

He made a total of 54 appearances for the Super Eagles and scored eight goals. He remains one of the greatest left-backs the African continent has ever produced.

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported on third-best player in the Alimosho area of Lagos state while grooving to popular Fuji artist Pasuma.

The 36-year-old who was the third-best player at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands, was all smiles miming and making dance moves to the song.

Taiwo got pumped up as the artist hailed the 'Centre of Excellence' where he got his primary and secondary schools education.
