Ghana's Black Meteors suffered another humiliating defeat at the hands of Japan on Tuesday morning.

The U23 team was beaten 4-0 by their Japanese counterparts, making it 10-0 on aggregate after two legs.

Having lost 6-0 in the first leg, coach Paa Kwesi Fabin rang some changes to the team that played the first game.

The head coach decided to start Accra Hearts of Oak's goalie Richmond Ayi ahead of William Essu.

Despite the change, the Black Meteors conceded three first-half goals.

However, an improved second half saw them conceding just a goal.

The team will travel to Seoul to face the U-24 team of South Korea before returning to Ghana.

Speaking about the national team, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Ghana Football Association has released a statement on the absence of Thomas Partey from the Black Stars camp ahead of the friendly against Morocco.

According to the football federation, the Arsenal midfielder asked for permission to be absent on grounds of personal issues.

Earlier on Monday morning, news broke that the 27-year-old has been sacked for arriving in camp late.

But the FA said, "Thomas travelled to Cape Coast on Thursday to meet Coach Charles Akonnor over some personal issues.

"After the meeting which lasted for about an hour, the Coach excused him from the trip to Morocco – and asked him to report to camp for the second game against Ivory Coast," the statement on the FA's website continued.

"As the 1st Deputy Captain of the Black Stars, Thomas later joined his colleagues in training to show solidarity and support before leaving for Accra. The Arsenal midfielder will therefore team up with the rest of the squad on Thursday when the team returns from Morocco."
