Onome Ebi, who is the captain of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, has confirmed her readiness and that of her teammates in the national team ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The Nigerian national women's team recently defeated Haiti and New Zealand in international friendly games and earned plaudits from fans at home and abroadthey earned accolades from Nigerian football fans home and abroad.
The ninth edition of the Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place from July 20 to August 20 this year and in the history of the competition, the Super Falcons have never won it.
In the last two games the Super Falcons played, Onome featured and even scored against New Zealand in what was a perfect 3-0 win.

In the history of the all-female football tournament, Nigeria have never claimed the trophy.
The biggest stage of the tournament the Super Falcons reached was the quarter-final in 1999. However, Onome explained that fans should expect better performance this time around.
According to the report on Brila, the defender said her teammates are aware that they are in a tough group but affirmed the squad would do everything possible to make their country proud.

"We are working hard because we are aware that we are in a difficult pool. We have the reigning champions Canada, who we have faced two times before losing one and drawing one. Then we have Ireland and Australia who we have not played against."

FootballHowever, Onome does not believe the team is under any pressure, despite knowing the toughness of their campaign.
Meanwhile, this year's competition will be the defender's sixth FIFA World Cup in what is an incredible record for the former Bayelsa Queens defender.
Falcons put on sensational performance
Sports Brief had previously reported on the Super Falcons' fine display against their counterparts in the United States, losing 2-1 in Washington.
It was more than 20 years since Nigeria had scored against the USA women's national team, which came in a 7-1 loss to the Americans in 1999.
