  • Content creator Thabiso Motloung continued to state his case in alleging the club engaged in intellectual property theft
  • He went on Radio 2000 to explain to host Thabiso Mosia that the Brazilians used his podcast idea without involving him
  • At that point, the club had unconvincingly explained its side of the story with a couple of tweets adding fuel to the fire

Mamelodi Sundowns has a lot to explain when it comes to Thabiso Motloung.

A supporter of the club and a content creator, Motloung alleged the football club had engaged in intellectual property theft.

He said that Sundowns had created a podcast which was based on the pitch he sent to the club a few years ago.

"I had sent the same proposal to Pirates and Joseph Bertrand responded and said the club has a similar idea and I respected that and moved on. But with Sundowns they said they'll discuss it internally and come back to me. But now they're executing it."

Motloung said that was not the first time he had sent a proposal to the Brazilians.

"The first one was about MSFC TV. They responded and said they are working on something similar which I understood and accepted. That's why I came back with another idea which they didn't have and said they'd look into."

Sundowns had been invited by the station to offer its side of the story, with the offer not accepted at the time of publication.

Sundowns want chance to respond

Earlier in the day, the Brazilians were in damage control mode, as Sports Brief previously reported.

Sundowns asked for the chance to explain their side of their story, despite missing a chance on radio.

Many of the club's fans were not impressed with the alleged misconduct and the weak explanations.

Sundowns goes on the defensive

A day earlier, Sundowns had denied the allegations levelled by Motloung on Twitter, as per Sports Brief.

A terse tweet expressed shock at the allegations, even inviting him on the same podcast to have his say.
