Pellegrini misses penalty

Jose Mourinho opted for Roma captain, Lorenzo Pellegrini to start in the front three alongside Dybala and English striker, Tammy Abraham.

The Italian struck the woodwork with a penalty that could have given his team the lead just before half-time. He was replaced at the break by Dutch midfielder, Georgino Wijnaldum, according to CBS Sports.

Pellegrini's miss proved costly for the Italian side, with Roma going down after the half-time break thanks to a beautifully taken goal by Mats Weiffer in the 54th minute.

Abraham subbed due to injury

Another unfortunate incident struck the Giallorossi in the second half after Abraham was injured and had to be replaced by Andrea Belotti in the 58th minute.

That means by the 60th minute, Jose Mourinho's team had a new front three due to circumstances the former Chelsea boss would not have wished to see.

Young defender, Roger Ibanez had his header hit the woodwork and then cleared off the line to sum up what was a frustrating evening for the Italian capital club.

Mourinho sends warning to Feyenoord

Sports Brief previously reported on Mourinho sending Feyenoord a message to let go of any revenge plans ahead of the meeting between the two sidesobsession for a revenge of the previous meeting between the two sides.

Roma beat the Dutch team 1-0 to win the inaugural Europa Conference League last year thanks to a goal by Nicolo Zaniolo (now with Galatasaray).

The Special One warned that the result of their UEL tie would never change the result of last season, even if Feyenoord put 10 goals past Roma.
