Lionel Messi has received a strong message from Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski regarding a potential return to the Camp Nou at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Messi and Paris Saint-Germain look set to part ways at the end of the season, with the Ligue 1 club reportedly skeptical of extending the Argentine’s contract beyond this campaign.
The 35-year-old penned a two-year deal when he joined the Parisians from Barcelona in 2021 but his time in Paris has failed to meet the expectations, after back-to-back failures in the UEFA Champions League.
According to Mundo Deportivo, as cited by Daily Record, Lewandowski was questioned about the Argentina international and made it clear that before he hangs up his boots, he would love to play alongside Messi at the Catalan club.

Messi's time at Barcelona
As a 13-year-old, Messi moved to Barcelona from his hometown of Rosario in Argentina, after scouts were astounded by the young prodigy.
He made an immediate impact in 2004 and never looked back, earning his first Ballon d'Or award at only 22 years old.
However, after 778 games, 672 goals, and 17 years in the first team at Camp Nou, Barcelona's bleak financial situation saw the Argentine's time come to an emotional end.
Messi then joined PSG on a free transfer in June of 2021.

Supporters of the Catalan giants sang Messi's name during Barcelona's second-leg semi-final tie with rivals, Real Madrid last Wednesday, GOAL reported.
On April 10, La Blaugrana fans were at it again, this time during a La Liga tie against Girona which ended in a stalemate, per SB Nation.
