Victor Osimhen is now facing a fitness race to be available for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against AC Milan, which will be played on Wednesday, 12 April.
The Nigerian striker has been out of action for Napoli for the past two weeks where he has missed two games due to an injury he sustained while playing for the national team.
Osimhen featured for the Super Eagles in their African Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Squirrels, and got injured in the return leg in Bissau.
Due to the injury, the Nigerian missed the Serie A encounter against Milan, in which Napoli lost 4-0, with some fans claiming that they would not have lost if Osimhen was available.

According to the latest report on Punch, Osimhen is still recovering, and a source explained that the club's medical team would try all their best to get him fit.

''Osimhen will continue his recovery work on Monday too, the intention is to have clinical tests and a decisive audition on Tuesday to be part of the list of players called up for the away match in Milan.
“Should the last test give positive signals, Spalletti could insert him among the starters for the away match at San Siro, he could initially take a seat on the bench and possibly enter the second half if there was a need.''

The lanky forward has netted 21 goals in 23 matches in the league this season and has been pivotal in Napoli's run to the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.
