- Nigerian football chiefs have been urged to disengage Super Eagles handler Jose Peseiro after 11 months
- This call was made by former Gombe State Football Association chairman, Gara Gombe, who says Peseiro is not the right man
- Since Peseiro was hired as Nigeria coach, the Portuguese has lost six out of his nine games which Gombe is not happy with
Experienced Nigerian soccer administrator Gara Gombe has explained that the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs made mistake to have hired Jose Peseiro as the Super Eagles gaffer.
Peseiro became the head coach of the three-time African champions following Nigeria's failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup losing the play-offs against Ghana.
The former Venezuela coach was appointed by ex-NFF boss Amaju Pinnick who claimed to have been satisfied with the records of the Portuguese.
However, things have not been rosy for Peseiro as he has not been getting good results in charge of the Super Eagles.

According to the report on Soccernet, Gombe who was one time chairman of Gombe State Football Association claimed that the Super Eagles are going no where with Peseiro.
Gombe's statement about Peseiro
“In the first place, employing him was wrong, not to talk of giving him another contract. His past was characterised by failure, and he has maintained his tradition with the Super Eagles.
“The best thing is to invoke the termination clause of the contract and sack him. NFF shouldn’t wait until he does more damage. Under Peseiro, the Super Eagles are without philosophy, character, pattern, or purpose.''

FootballPreviously ranked 35th in the world, Nigeria dropped to 40th, their lowest in almost four years.
The drop could be attributed to their poor performance against Guinea-Bissau in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
