FootballJose Mourinho Fires Back at Antonio Cassano With Brutal Swipe at Former Real Madrid Star
- Jose Mourinho has taken the gloves off in a stinging response to retired footballer Antonio Cassano
- Cassano had previously attacked Mourinho's playing style, calling it 'outdated'
- Mourinho has now fired back at the AS Roma striker with a savage response of his own
Jose Mourinho has taken a brutal swipe at Antonio Cassano after the former Italian international criticised the AS Roma style of play.
Cassano called out Mourinho for his inability to play beautiful football with the pundit. The footballer-turned-pundit was speaking in response to the reports that continue linking Mourinho with a return to one of his former clubs - either Real Madrid or Chelsea.
Mourinho responded in characteristic style, dragging the former midfielder through the mud. The AS Roma boss pointed out that Cassano never won anything tangible despite playing for top clubs like Inter Milan, Roma and Real Madrid during his days.
"Everyone is free to have their preferences and to make criticisms. But when you talk about others, like Antonio, they are different. He has fun, the others work seriously. If they criticize Roma or Mourinho, it doesn't interest them, they have fun. Cassano played for Roma, Inter and Real.

In Madrid, he is remembered for his jacket. With Roma, he won a Super Cup without playing, in Inter, he didn't even win the Lombardy Cup. You know what I won with Inter, Real Madrid and Rome. He will have a problem with me, I won't with him. I'll tell him only one thing, watch out Antonio, you're 40 and I'm 60," as quoted by Goal.
Mourinho made these comments after watching his side grind out a 1-0 lead over Torino courtesy of a Paulo Dybala penalty.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that on February 28, Jose Mourinho made headlines after he was sent off for the third time this season during a Serie A game against Cremonese.
Mourinho making headlines is pretty common, but this time, he was infuriated with the fourth official, Marco Serra, whom he accused of being biased towards AS Roma's next opponents.
Roma were facing Juventus next and Serra hails from Turin. Mourinho was subsequently banned for two games but was available for the game against Juventus. The Special One had vowed to pursue legal channels against Serra.
