FootballFrank Lampard: Chelsea Boss Sends Stern Warning to Players Ahead of Real Madrid Clash
- Chelsea caretaker boss Frank Lampard cut a frustrated figure on his return to the dugout
- Lampard saw his side get outplayed and defeated by Wolves on Saturday afternoon
- The Chelsea legend has now asked the current stars not to show up for the Real Madrid tie if they won't be up for it
Frank Lamprd's return to Chelsea failed to spark a fairytale welcome as the Blues went 1-0 down to Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 8th.
The clash at the Molineux Stadium was decided by a stunning volley from Matheus Nunes in the first half.
Chelsea's same old problems this season of failing to create and take their chances recurred under their former manager and club legend. Languishing in 11th position, Chelsea have only won 4 of their last 20 Premier League games.
Lampard calls out Chelsea players
It was another insipid performance, with Chelsea's attacking trio of Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz and Joao Felix failing to inspire upfront. Lampard admitted that there was still work to be done but lashed out at his players who failed to match Wolves' aggression.

"Without that aggression, you can’t win games and you can’t be the team that Chelsea has been at different times and want to get back to. I think it was a performance, if you really analyse it, if you want to win a Premier League game, you have to have more aggression, more speed, win more competitive duels," as quoted by the Guardian.
Warning ahead of Real Madrid showdown
The award-winning former midfielder quickly shifted his attention to the Champions League, asking his players not to avail themselves if they are worried.
"If you’re worried, then don’t come. It’s an absolute carrot for them when they sign for Chelsea," as quoted by Daily Star.
Chelsea travel to Santiago Bernabeu to play record champions Real Madrid on Wednesday.

FootballRelegation watch
Sports Brief had earlier reported that there is a genuine possibility Chelsea could get relegated this season, and Blues fans are a worried lot.
Defeat on Saturday left Chelsea fans with a sense of Deja Vu, as the team was not too improved under their club legend’s watch.
While 39 points at this stage of the season is not relegation form, Chelsea are still very much in genuine danger of being dragged into the battle.
