Antoine Semenyo has disclosed his ambitions of reaching the heights Asamoah Gyan chalked with the Black Stars of Ghana.
The English-born Ghanaian forward netted his first competitive goal for the Black Stars in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola last month.
Semenyo is one of the players charged with the role of occupying the huge vacuum left by the former Black Stars captain.
Gyan, in 109 appearances for the Black Stars, scored 51 goals and remains the country's all-time leading scorer.

Although he is yet to officially announce his retirement from the game, the 36-year-old could make a return to the game before finally hanging his boots.
Meanwhile, Semenyo will get the chance to increase his tally for the Black Stars when Ghana next play in the AFCON qualifiers in June this year.
“I used to watch him when he came to AFCON competitions and the World Cup. He was such a big player and I dream to be exactly like him," he told GHANAweb, as quoted by Pulse.
Semenyo decided to play for Ghana last year despite being born in England. He made the Black Stars team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, playing two of the three games.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Antoine Semenyo finally met his idol, Asamoah Gyan after scoring the winner in the game between Ghana and Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Antoine Semenyo was the hero as Ghana left it late to secure a hard-fought one-nil victory against Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
The Bournemouth striker climbed off the bench to score the match's only goal as the Black Stars of Ghana tightened their grip at the summit of Group E.
Semenyo's 96th-minute strike ensured new Ghana coach Chris Hughton started his new role on a winning note.
