An Athletic Bilbao fan has showed appreciation to club legend and Ghana international, Inaki Williams before the game against Getafe.

The Spanish-born Ghanaian forward has spent his entire career at the Basque-based club and remains the player with the most consecutive appearances in La Liga.

The fan, known on social media at Irati, produced a lovely drawing of the Ghanaian with the Athletic Bilbao and Ghana flags.

The Black Stars striker reacted to the art with starry-eye emojis, indicating his love for the effort put into the work.

Williams featured as Athletic Bilbao shared the spoils with Getafe in La Liga on Sunday.

The former Spain international will lead his teammates for the Copa Del Rey second-leg clash against Osasuna on Tuesday night.

Williams switched nationality to represent Ghana in June 2022 and has since made eight appearances for the Black Stars, making his debut against Brazil in a friendly in September last year.

He was a member of the Ghana team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year.

Gyan calls for patience for Williams

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan jumping to the defence of misfiring forward, Williams.

The Spanish-born Ghanaian had another difficult game as the Black Stars laboured to a hard-fought win against Angola.

Williams was replaced in the 70th minute by match-winner, Antoine Semenyo and some criticism has come his way.

Ghana players' tribute to Atsu

Players of Ghana's senior national team, the Black Stars came together to pay final respects to former teammate, Christian Atsu.

The winger was among the thousands tragically killed following an earthquake which struck Turkey and Syria last month.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle United player, whose body was found after 12 days of searching, was laid to rest on March 17.
