Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is now the second most followed Nigerian footballer on Instagram with 1.9M followers thanks to his impressive performances this season in the Serie A.

There is no doubt about the fact that Osimhen has been in fantastic form this season for Napoli in all competitions and he is also leading the goalscoring chart with 21 goals in the Serie A.

That has made him become a target for many clubs in Europe with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested in him.

Most followed Nigerian player

Henry Onyekuru is currently the most-followed Super Eagles player on Instagram with 3.6 million followers.

Onyekuru currently boasts more followers than Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Leicester City stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has surpassed Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa (1.5 million), and Chelsea legend Mikel Obi (1.8 million) on Instagram.

Arrigo Sacchi speaks about Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how former Italian professional coach, Arrigo Sacchi claimed that Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen would have also struggled if he had featured in the AC Milan clash.

To the surprise of many, Napoli - who are leading Serie A - suffered an embarrassing 4-0 home defeat against the defending champions on April 2, in a tie that Osimhen missed due to injury.

The on-form forward was reported to have been injured while playing for the Super Eagles in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Napoli started the encounter impressively with fans expecting them to record big win over their visitors, but the opposite happened.
