Maurizio Sarri recently spoke on the ills of modern football as he claimed there would be “nothing left” in the sport if a current trend keeps up.
The Biancocelesti boss was critical of the fact that modern football players are subjected to too many games, thus affecting the quality of the modern game.
According to the former Chelsea boss, the current football schedule was not feasible as combining international football with club games was affecting the players.
"If football is treated only as a business, in ten years there will be nothing left. There are more interesting shows on TV. Sarri said as quoted on getfootballnewsitaly.com

“I only watched the Kosovo-Andorra game for 10 minutes, just because I was looking at the channels and I saw 22 players all in the box. The schedule is insane, and I’ve heard about the insanity of boosting matches. There are 5-6 absentees due to injury for every national team match.”
Sarri went on to state he feels happy when his players are not called up for international duty.
“When my players aren’t called up I’m happy, because they can rest. National teams are crazy. Vecino went from Italy, Japan, South Korea and Italy to play two friendlies. By now, it is clear that this is no longer feasible.
Sarri has never been one to back away from speaking his mind.
Recently he also sent a strong message to his Lazio players by declaring there were stronger squads in the Serie A in the fight for Champions League football, despite his team being in second place.

Fiorentina player fakes injury to help teammate break fast
Sports Brief also reported on an interesting incident in the Serie A during the game between Inter Milan and Fiorentina.
Towards the end of the game happened to come around the time muslims are supposed to break their fast.
Italian defender Luca Ranieri was well aware of this fact, and he decided to do the honorable, yet unethical thing by football standards as he went down in an apparent injury towards the end of the game.
What was interesting was the fact that no one was near him at the time, although many would assume it was probably cramp.
