Chelsea and Aston Villa are currently battling it out in an encounter between the 10th and 11th teams on the Premier League table.

The early proceedings was back and forth between the two teams before Spanish defender Marc Cucurella gifted Villa the opener after miscommunication with Kalidou Koulibaly.

The £63m summer signing headed back a ball into the path of English striker Ollie Watkins who lifted it over the onrushing Kepa Arrizabalaga for the opener.

He has just an assist to his name so far. He was played in on goal by Mateo Kovacic but played a soft shot which was easily gathered by World Cup winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Chilwell's goal ruled out

The first half of the game had so many dramas but the one Chelsea would feel done by was Ben Chilwell's goal getting ruled out due to pushing.

Brutish record signing Enzo Fernandez sent in a beautiful cross which Chilwell headed home but he was adjudged to have push Ashley Young.

The English defender also had another incident where he clamoured for a penalty but it was waved off. Chelsea also had another penalty appeal checked by VAR after a foul on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Chelsea fans bully Cucurella

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea fans bullied Cucurella to locking his Instagram comments after a poor start to life at Stamford Bridge since his expensive move from Brighton.

The 24-year-old announced the arrival of his third child but locked his comments section to avoid negative comments from the fans.

Mudryk show fighting spirit

Sports Brief also reported that Mudryk showed defiance despite his slow start to life at Chelsea after his expensive move in January. He uploaded a message on Instagram labelling himself a warrior.
