- Inter Milan have emerged as a shock destination for the 33-year-old in the summer
Chelsea and having striker problems now looks like an established curse after the majority of their previous number 9s have failed to make impacts at the club.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined the list of failed strikers at the club almost immediately after the club shipped out £97.5m striker Romelu Lukaku on loan to Inter Milan after falling out with former coach Thomas Tuchel.
The Gabonese was brought in to replace Lukaku, but his relationship with Tuchel lasted 59 minutes on the pitch before the German was shown the exit and replaced with Graham Potter.
The former Arsenal striker is not rated by the English boss, evident in leaving him out of the Champions League squad despite scoring two crucial goals against AC Milan in the group stages, as reported by Guardian.

Inter Milan interested in Aubameyang
The 33-year-old had the chance to be put out of his misery at Chelsea with a move to MLS side Los Angeles FC, but he turned down the move, as reported by Metro UK.
Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Italian giants Inter Milan are interested in bringing him to his former stomping ground San Siro in the summer.
Nerazzurri have a Blues striker Romelu Lukaku on loan, but his fitness condition has cast doubts on his continued stay in Italy, and he would return to Chelsea in the summer, as reported by Football Italia.
The Belgian helped the club to the 2021 Scudetto under Antonio Conte, their first in 11 years but has failed to hit the same heights.

FootballChelsea to terminate Aubameyang's contract
The former Arsenal striker's continued stay at Chelsea could be ended in the summer after reports the club have decided to terminate his £260,000 per-week contract, as Sports Brief earlier reported.
The striker was seen in former club Barcelona's dressing room after their 2-1 El Clasico win over Real Madrid, a move which angered the Blues' hierarchy.
Auba spent only six months at Camp Nou, having joined in January 2022 after he was frozen out of the Arsenal team by Mikel Arteta over disciplinary issues.
