Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he misses life at his former club Real Madrid - more than he does Manchester United .

The 34-year-old ended his nine year reign at the Santiago Bernabeu after sealing a move to join the Old Lady last summer.

And barely after one season in the Italian League, the Portuguese won the most valuable player for the Serie A season - scoring 21 goals and eight assists in 31 league appearances.

He will however be hoping to kick off from where he stopped at the end of the 2018-19 season after helping the Turin side win the title.

Ronaldo returned to Spain on Monday to receive MARCA Legend award and the forward remembered the fond memories in Madrid.

The Mirror reports that Lionel Messi, Usain Bolt and Muhammad Ali have also been given the award by the Spanish newspaper

After receiving the prestigious prize, Ronaldo said: "This is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
"I travel a lot, but I haven’t seen many cities like Madrid. I hope to return to Madrid as soon as possible because this is a city I love.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez was on ground to congratulate Ronaldo after which the striker was interviewed by some young children at the event, asking if he misses Real or Manchester United more..

''I miss both of them, but I spent more time at Real Madrid and my family grew up here so I miss Real Madrid more," he added. “It wasn’t easy to leave Real Madrid after nine years.”

Ronaldo is the most successful player in the history of Champions League having won the title a record five times - one more than his rival, Lionel Messi.

Meanwhile, Tuko.co.ke had reported that Lionel Messi had insisted that he missed his counterpart Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga.

The Barcelona star also revealed he was still in touch with former teammate Neymar Jr, who is tipped to return to the Camp Nou.
