EPL 2022/23: Arsenal Star Bukayo Saka Sets Personal and League Record
- Bukayo Saka assisted the first goal for Gabriel Martinelli in the match against Crystal Palace
- He then scored the second goal to make it 2-0 before the teams proceeded on halftime break
- The England star set a personal best record and also a league record with the goal and assist
Arsenal quelled any chance of Crystal Palace doing a new manager bounce on them by racing to a 2-0 lead in the first half against the manager-less club.
Bukayo Saka assisted Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli for the opening goal before adding the second himself to take his tally for the season to 11 goals and 10 assists.
In doing so, he set a record for his personal best season in the league as well as becoming the first player in the 2022/23 Premier League season to hit double figures in both goals and assists.
The England international also surpassed the goals scored by Gunners legend and former Palace boss Patrick Vieira, who was sacked days ago as the Eagles boss after a winless 2023, as reported by Daily Star. Vieira scored 32 goals, Saka's brace means he has scored 33.
