Former Arsenal winger, Brooke Georgina Nunn has indicated an interest in switching allegiance to play for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
Her mother is half-Nigerian with the family based in Lagos and her grandfather, Jackson Asiboje was one of the directors of a shipping company based in Apapa.
Born and bred in London, Nunn was snapped up by the Arsenal academy at a tender age and she rose through the ranks to feature for the club’s first female team, winning with Women's Super League twice with the Gunners.
In 2011, the pacy winger was part of Arsenal's Champions League squad and then attracted interest from London Bees and London City.

The 30-year-old, who currently plays for Hibernian Women in the Scottish Women's Premier League, says she would be proud to represent Nigeria at the senior level.
She told Sports Brief:
“It would be an honour to represent my country. I am proud of my Nigerian heritage and I believe it gives me the strength power and wisdom to achieve anything I want in life."
“I believe the opportunity to play for Super Falcons could push me to my potential. I would also love to connect with the people of Nigeria, create and carry on friendships with coaches and players that could last a lifetime.”
The forward also stated her mother does not really know her roots, but says she is keen to learn where her family originated from.

Football“Although my mother doesn’t know a lot about her heritage, I have always been very keen to learn where we came from and what led to us being here.
“She was born in England and didn’t grow up with her parents as she lived in a foster home from an early age. Her family was situated in Lagos, where her dad [Asiboje] was one of the directors of a shipping company that is based in Apapa.”
Nigeria will play at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. The Super Falcons are drawn in Group B alongside the Matildas, Ireland, and Canada.
Nunn believes the Nigerian squad boasts incredible talent but feels she can also make an impact.
“The squad is very strong and talented and it would be a challenge, but I love to push myself outside my comfort zone and work hard for what I want."

Football“I believe I could definitely make an impact and even if I didn’t break into the starting lineup, I would always give 100 per cent for the team and do what I could, to help drive us to victory.
“As much as I would love to start, I believe everybody in the team plays a big part and we all have to work together, encourage and support each other.”
