  • Lionel Messi's father has been spotted in Saudi Arabia after Al Hilal showed interest in his son
  • The Argentine could replace Cristiano Ronaldo as the face of Saudi Arabian football if he accepts the deal
  • Messi is in the final months of his contract with PSG and is open to sign with any team in the summer

It appears Lionel Messi's father is preparing for his son's life after PSG after he was seen in Saudi Arabia.

Messi, 35, is out of contract with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season and is yet to agree on a new deal with the French club.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner penned a two-year deal when he joined PSG in 2021 and that contract runs out at the end of the season with Barcelona interested in snapping up the Argentine in the summer.

A return to Camp Nou looks highly improbable for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner at the moment due to the club’s ongoing challenges with Financial Fair Play rules and corruption scandals.

Why was Jorge in Saudi Arabia?

Daily Star claims that Jorge, who is also the agent of Messi, was seen in Saudi Arabia to begin negotiations with Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.

In photos circulating on social media, the Argentine was spotted talking to a local while wearing dark shades and carrying a satchel.

What is Al Hilal's offer?

Messi could be set to join long-term rival Cristiano Ronaldo as the joint highest-paid footballers in the world if he accepts a move to the Saudi Arabia Pro League.

Al-Hilal are set to offer the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner a whopping €220million per year deal to match the package Al-Nassr gave Cristiano Ronaldo, Goal reports.

Ronaldo currently earns a whopping £177million per year at Al-Nassr and will also serve as an ambassador after his playing career concludes in 2024.

MLS hoping to attract Lionel Messi

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Lionel Messi could still wind up in Major League Soccer next season? The league's commissioner, Don Garber certainly hopes so and is willing to make exceptions to bring the superstar to MLS.

MLS outfit, Inter Miami have made no secret that they want the World Cup winner next season. The league's financial restrictions may scupper any deal, but Phil Neville's team aren't giving up hope yet.

If Inter Miami isn't enough to entice Messi, Garber is considering offering the World Cup winner the chance to own an MLS franchise.
