Former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian has admitted he regrets joining the Gunners after his Chelsea stint came to an end.

He had the chance to remain at Chelsea, but was reportedly discontent at the fact that he was only offered a two year deal.

“I should have never left”

His stint at Arsenal was a nightmare, and after just 12 months, he left the club, going back to his native Brazil to play for Corinthians.

Willian was recently asked by Sky Sports whether he regretted leaving Chelsea for Arsenal and his response was very telling.

“Yeah. I wish I’d never left. Yeah.” He said as quoted on SportBible.
“Of course, it’s easy to say something now, but when I stop to think about the whole situation then yeah, I say to myself I wish I’d never left.
“But it’s life. I’m happy now at Fulham - enjoying myself there, so this is life.”

Willian, 34, also spoke on Arsenal’s title surge this season as he gave credit where it is due.

“They are flying now. I don’t know, I think I came while it was changing a lot.”
“I was excited when I signed with them, I was training hard but it just didn’t work.” He added.

At Fulham, Willian is an integral part of Marco Silva’s side, and recently won the Goal of The Month award.

Fulham are currently 8th on the log, and have been superb in the Premier League, especially considering they are a newly-promoted side.
