According to a report on Pulse, the 38-year-old maintained that Ajax should not have paid Rangers the amount they rolled out for Bassey.
Statement made by Sneijder
"I still think 23 million is too much. This concerns the question of what is asked of a defender in Amsterdam's service.
"He plays at Ajax, so he will have to be able to play football. He might be fantastic in another league. But he has a hard time when he keeps getting released and he has to play from the back.''
Bassey has however featured in eight games for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
