Finidi George Nominated for NPFL Best Manager Award for February

• Former Nigerian international Finidi George is among the NPFL coaches picked for the February best award
• Others are Mohamed Baba Ganaru of Lobi Stars, Deji Ayeni of Akwa United and Monday Odigie of Insurance
• Insurance are currently topping the NPFL table in Group A, while Finidi and his wards occupy second

Super Eagles legend Finidi George has been named among the nominees by League Bloggers for the Best Manager award for the month of February following impressive outings.

Goerge who is the gaffer of Enyimba had brilliant games together with his wards last month beating Gombe United, El-Kanemi Warriors and Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

The Nigerian League is currently on break due to the 2023 general elections as George and his players finished the first stanza of the abridged league on second position in Group A.

Their last match was a 1-0 defeat in Benin against Bendel Insurance who have not lost any game so far this term.

According to the report on Pulse, George will face serious battle to land this award from the trio of Deji Ayeni of Akwa United, Monday Odigie of Bendel Insurance and Baba Ganaru of Lobi Stars.

Sports Brief spoke with George on his nomination, and the former Nigerian international expressed happiness to have been picked.

''It is a good one that we are being noted for what we are doing and I am happy with the nomination and that of other coaches.

''It is not over because we still have nine more games in the second round and we are going to do our best to end up well.''
