Victor Wanyama sends message of encouragement to Shujaa ahead of Paris 7s relegation battle
Harambee Stars and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has sent out a word of encouragement to the relegation threatened Kenya Sevens squad ahead of the penultimate leg of the HSBC Series in Paris on Saturday.
Shujaa have a tough outing in the world's capital city of fashion-Paris, where Kenya will be battling to save their face by retaining their core status, starting with the match against Australia at 1.06pm.
Equally, Wanyama has a tough assignment-the Champions League final where Spurs will square it out with Liverpool later today, but the Kenyan skipper still stood with Shujaa in a turbulent journey following a tough season marked by mismanagement and players' revolt against the Union.
"Guys, I wish you all the best in tomorrow's (Today) Rugby Sevens. Hope you'll do better and the result will come. Good luck," Wanyama said in a video message to Shujaa squad.
Kenya will then return to the pitch at 4.10 against South Africa before winding their group campaign against Wales at 7.36pm.
With these tough fixtures, Shujaa still have to make it to the main Cup semis to be assured of avoiding the axe. Kenya is currently 14th, just one place above Japan and Ireland in the 21-team table.
Meanwhile, Michael Wanjala and Herman Humwa replaced the injured Dio of Daniel Sikuta and Daniel Taabu from the squad.
