  • Arsenal have reportedly shortlisted Raheem Sterling among their summer transfer targets
  • Mikel Arteta is said to be a huge admirer of the Chelsea winger and is keen to have him in his ranks
  • Sterling has not hit the ground running since he moved to Stamford Bridge from Man City last summer

Fans have made their feelings known amid reports Arsenal are keeping tabs on Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling.

Sterling, who joined the Blues from Manchester City last summer has not had the best of spells with the west Londoners.

The England international has largely failed to live up to his billing at Stamford Bridge, having managed a paltry seven goals in 28 matches in the famous blue shirt.

Sterling linked with Arsenal move

According to 90min, the Gunners are keen to bolster their squad as they plan their return to Champions League.

The publication claims that the north Londoners have shortlisted Sterling among their top summer targets, with Mikel Arteta said to be interested in reuniting with the winger.

Arteta is believed to be a huge fan of Sterling due to the Chelsea star's versatility which allows him to play in any position up front.

The reports linking Sterling with a move to the Emirates Stadium has sparked reactions among the fans on social media, with one posting:

"Well. It could be a different Sterling here but I still say no."

A second added:

"Chelsea are definitely not selling their best attacker this season to Arsenal."

Another conceded:

"I’d give him a chance. He’s much more suited to our football surely."

A fourth tweeted:

"We’d be very lucky to get a player of his quality playing for the Arsenal. Incisive and direct and capable of perpetual thought in his technique."

Sterling celebrates son's birthday

Sports Brief earlier reported on Sterling celebrating his son's birthday, weeks after his house was burgled while he was on duty with England at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Jewellery worth £300,000 was stolen at his house and he rushed home to make sure his family was safe, leading to him missing the Three Lions 3-0 win over Senegal.

The former Liverpool star has two sons with his current partner and a daughter from a previous relationship, as revealed by the Sun.
