Quite a number of African football stars have a taste for luxury and many of them will stop at nothing to splash the cash in acquiring some of the most expensive cars.

Footballers are known to love flashy cars and some of these rides align with that perception.

In 2014, Cameroon legend, Samuel Eto’o bought an exotic Bugatti Veyron, which is said to be worth around $1.9 million right now.

The former Barcelona striker was also said to have snapped up a luxury Maybach Xenatec for a whopping £750,000.

5. Didier Drogba - Mercedes-Benz SL 65 ($317,514)

The former Chelsea striker would stop at nothing when it comes to splashing the cash on exotic rides, dropping the cash on an exotic Mercedes SL 65.

The AMG-tuned car uses a twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V-8 engine that produces 577 horsepower and 664 pounds-feet of torque.

This ride is said to be a popular choice for footballers.

4. Obafemi Martins - Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ($347,500)

The former Super Eagles of Nigeria striker loves speed on and off the pitch. According to Naija Auto, the ex-Inter Milan of Italy striker must have spent heavily to acquire the ride.

The latest model of the ride is sold for between $347,500 and $595,750.

3. El Hadji Diouf - Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ($400,000)

The Senegalese legend is stylish and in 2009, during his time at English Premier League club, Sunderland, he flaunted his McLaren.

He appeared majestically on the streets of Manchester and was spotted around the Living Room, a bar which celebrities used to regularly frequent.

The car was so shiny that if Diouf had any hair on his head, he could have easily styled it in the car's reflective paintwork.

2. Emmanuel Adebayor - Aston Martin DBS ($536,900)

The latest Aston Martin DBS is reportedly worth around $536,900 to $570,200 and it is a luxury performance car. According to Car Expert, this ride has a gorgeous exterior design and is fitted with a mighty V-12 engine.

The Cameroonian received his $ 1.9 million Bugatti Veyron shortly after joining Russian outfit, Anzhi Makhachkala.

Daily Mail reported on the former Barcelona striker giving the legendary Roger Milla a Porsche as a Christmas present in the year 2010, cementing Eto’o's reputation as a lover of luxurious cars.
