Erik Ten Hag is laying down solid principles and work ethics at Manchester after he gave no day off to his players despite their 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Wembley yesterday, which gave them the Carabao Cup trophy.

Chelsea lost the London derby to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, and it increased the pressure on Graham Potter, who is scrambling to find means of turning it around at Chelsea before the owners lose patience.

Ten Hag's action opened an old wound for Chelsea fans, who fumed at their manager all over again after giving his players two days off last week despite an embarrassing loss.

Chelsea fans petition to sack Potter

Chelsea fans have been going through the motions with different strategies to get Graham Potter out of their club, even though the power is not in their hands.

As Sports Brief earlier reported, a Twitter user started a petition on change.org, which has garnered nearly 40,000 signatures calling for the English manager to be shown the exit door.

Reports in the English media suggest he has the two games against Leeds United in the league and second leg round of 16 tie against Borussia Dortmund to turn things around.
