Alvaro Rodriguez is the name on many Real Madrid fans lip’s at the moment.
The Uruguayan youngster has made many sit up and take notice with his recent performances for Los Blancos, scoring one goal and notching up an assist in his last two games for the team.
The 18-year-old currently plays for Real Madrid Castilla, but looks certain to be promoted to the first team next season.
Rodriguez looks to be a star of the future for Madrid, but almost never signed for the Spanish champions.

Tribuna reported that the younger was originally scouted by Barcelona, but that the Catalan club opted not to make a move for him.
From Girona to Madrid
Rodriguez was 15 at the time and a member of Girona’s Academy when Barcelona considered him. Girona is also a Catalan club. However, the Blaugrana believed that the teenager lacked coordination and didn’t match their club’s needs despite being physical impressive.
Madrid then came calling and pushed to sign him. Rodriguez joined Madrid’s u/17 side before being promoted to the Castilla team.
An impressive showing
He has played 33 games under Raul Gonzalez at Real Madrid Castillas and has scored nine goals and notched up four assists for the side, Transfermarkt reported.
Rodriguez, along with his father, are proud Madridistas prior to him joining the side, so the youngster may not have been keen to sign for their rivals anyway.
