- She was keen to follow in the footsteps of his dad in basketball before her dream was cut short in a helicopter crash

- She leaves behind three other siblings, including a six-month old sister

Gianna Maria Onore, one of Kobe Bryant's four daughters has been identified among those who died alongside the basketball star in a helicopter crash.

Gianna, fondly known as GiGi, was also on board the ill-fated helicopter that went down on Sunday, January 26, in Calabasas, California.

According to TMZ Sport citing Bryant's reps, both Gianna and her father were on their way to the Mamba Academy for basketball practice.

Mirror UK reported the 13-year-old girl was a talented youth basketball player who was keen to follow in her father's footsteps.

Gianna often accompanied Bryant to LA Lakers matches, a place where the father made a name for himself.

Bryant is survived by his wife, Vanessa, who was reportedly not involved in the accident.

The couple share three other daughters, including Natalia, Bianca and Capri who was born only in June.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles County Sheriff's are understood to have already launched a probe into the crash.

According to eyewitnesses, they only heard the helicopter's engine stuttering before it went down.
