The Brazilian, who became a free agent recently, has returned to his home country to play football.
Fabrizio Romano earlier reported that Marcelo signed for Fluminese on a free transfer. The former Real Madrid defender started his career at Fluminese before he moved to Europe.

As noted by Transfermrkt, Marcelo started out with Fluminese's youth side before being promoted to the first team in 2005. Two years later he was sold to Real Madrid.

FootballMarcelo's career truly flourished once he moved to Spain. He became the club's most successful player, winning 25 trophies during his time with Los Blancos. Marcelo played 546 games for Madrid, scored 38 goals and provided 103 assists.
He spent 15 years at the Spanish club before signing as a free agent for Olympiacos in Greece.
Marcelo only played 10 games for the Greek side before his contract was terminated. He scored three goals for the club during those 10 games but it wasn't enough for the Greek side to consider keeping him.
Marcelo is a free agent once again.
The Brazilian defender had his contract terminated by Olympiakos after just five months, leading to speculation that he could be headed to Saudi Arabia, Sports Brief previously reported.
Both Olympiacos and Marcelo were happy with the decision to terminate his contract and added he had received an offer from a 'foreign team.' That foreign team is reportedly Al-Nassr.
