Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama purchases swanky bus for boyhood club
- Wanyama earlier in the week expressed interest in sponsoring two students through his foundation
- The midfielder was in charitable mood this week as he treated his boyhood club Country Bus and Muthurwa Boxing Club
- The 28-year old used to play for the club in his early years, earning the nickname Lion of Muthurwa
Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama extended his generosity to his boyhood club as , bought a fully furnished bus for the Country Bus FC and Muthurwa Boxing Club.
Early in the week, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, through his Victor Wanyama Foundation, offered to pay full tuition fees for two bright, talented but needy students throughout their high school.

The scholarship target a boy and a girl, who scored 400 marks and a bove at the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE)

The Nairobi East County League side, that is based in Muthurwa, is where the former Celtic and Southampton midfielder, who is known by his peers as the 'Lion of Muthurwa', begun his football career in his formative year.

“I can never run away from the fact that I was born and bred in Muthurwa and that Country Bus FC nurtured my talent. I am happy to give back to the team in a small way and hope this will be the beginning of the team’s ascendancy to the top,” Wanyama was quoted by the Daily Nation.
The bus, which was purchased in London, will be shared by the Country club and the Muthurwa boxing club.
Wanyama's elder brother MacDonald Mariga came under sharp criticism from the members of public when he voted for a parliamentary seat with a section of Kenyans blasting him for his failure to give back to the society while he was still actively involved in football.
It looks like Wanyama learnt from the mistakes of his brother as he starts to greatly be involved CSR activities back at home.

A tweet sent through the Victor Wanyama foundation official Twitter handle explained the purchase as a tokken of appreciation
“We hope this token of appreciation from Victor Wanyama will play a great role in producing the next stars from Country Bus FC and the great Muthurwa Boxing Club,” Victor Wanyama Foundation said on Twitter.
Wanyama on Friday, November 29 confirmed plans to build an ultra modern football complex in the country through the foundation.
The foundation’s vision is to have a decent complex which can house both indoor and outdoor sporting activities as well as match international standards.
