Abedi Pele and his family visited the family of Christian Atsu to commiserate with them following the passing of the footballer.
The mortal remains of the 31-year-old arrived in Accra on Sunday, with the family and Ghanaians in a state of mourning.
The government of Ghana, led by Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia - who received the body at the Kotoka International Airport - promised a befitting burial for the player.
Abedi Pele, whose sons were close to Atsu, visited the family home in Accra to support them in these difficult times.

The Ghanaian winger's body was pulled out of rubble 12 days after the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Atsu enjoyed a stellar career abroad, playing for FC Porto, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Everton.
He left Europe for Asia, where he played for Al Raed in Saudi Arabia.
His last club was Turkish outfit, Hatayspor, where he made three appearances since joining in September 2022.
Atsu scored his team's last goal - the match-winner - before the disaster happened.

Sports Brief reported on Juventus and Brazilian defender, Danilo paying an emotional tribute to Atsu, who passed away following the Turkey-Syria earthquake.
The two footballers were teammates at Portuguese giants, FC Porto, breaking into the senior team in the same year.
Atsu was killed in an earthquake disaster which claimed the lives of over 40,000 people in Turkey and Syria.
