He was a well-loved figure, highlighted by the wave of tributes paid to him by football clubs and players, per Daily Mail. He was said to have impacted lives with his altruistic gestures.

Sports Brief takes a look at how the former Newcastle United and Chelsea star was honoured by his ex-Black Stars teammates.

Mohammed Kudus

The sensational Ghanaian talent, who has been in red-hot form since the 2022 World Cup, honoured Atsu in every sense.

Kudus scored a stunning free kick in Ajax's 4-0 trouncing Sparta Rotterdam. He rushed off in celebration by taking off his shirt to display a heartwarming message of 'RIP Atsu'.

For context, Astu's last contribution as a footballer was a last-gasp free kick and Kudus' effort brought nostalgic memories of Atsu.

Jordan Ayew

Jordan, a deputy captain of Ghana's senior men's national team, honoured his compatriot during Crystal Palace's Premier League game against Brentford.

He did not manage to score like Kudus but waited until the end of the match to display his 'RIP Atsu' outfit, which he wore underneath his jersey.

Bernard Tekpetey

The former Schalke 04 forward saluted his late compatriot with a touching tribute.

Tekpetey, who lasted 45 minutes in Ludogrets' Bulgarian league fixture against Slavia Sofia, also displayed the emotional message in honour of Atsu.

Jeffrey Schlupp

Another Ghana international who honoured Atsu was Jeffrey Schlupp.

The versatile footballer had his inner outfit emblazoned with the inscription 'RIP Atsu', just like the aforementioned Black Stars players.

Atsu's final dressing room moment

Atsu's final moments with his club, Hatayspor, were joyful and excited, Sports Brief has reported.

The Ghanaian, who died in the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, netted the final goal before disaster struck.

The ever-smiling player is seen practicing a dance move with one of his teammates while the others chant his name.

Atsu touched lives with charity

Many people agree with the thought that life is fleeting. Sports Brief reported on the rare belief in the thought until an example strikes close to home.

That is the exact situation Ghanaians and the entire football community have been bequeathed with following the sad demise of Christian Atsu.

The Ghanaian footballer used his talent and wealth as a helping hand to try and whisk underprivileged individuals out of the grasp of poverty.
