  • Graham Potter has come under immense criticism in recent weeks following Chelsea's disastrous run of form
  • The Blues have won just one of their last 10 matches, with their last outing ending in a 1-0 defeat to bottom-placed Southampton
  • The shocking defeat sparked an online outrage from Chelsea fans, who demanded for the sacking of Potter as manager

The Chelsea board reportedly has no intention of sacking Graham Potter as manager despite the club's underwhelming run of results across competitions.

Potter has come under immense scrutiny since he succeeded Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge back in September.

The former Brighton boss has been unable to steady the ship at the club, with the Blues managing just one win 10 outings.

However, Metro UK reports that the heavy-spenders went on to post another dismal result as James Ward-Prowse’s first-half free-kick sunk Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Will Chelsea sack Graham Potter?

The defeat saw a section of Chelsea fans show their disappointment by booing off the players at the full-time whistle.

Others quickly took to social media to demand for the sacking of Potter, who has been at the helm of affairs for less than half a year.

But according to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, the Chelsea hierarchy no intention of showing Potter the door, with the club's top brass willing to afford the Englishman some patience.

Meanwhile, speaking after his side's defeat, Potter admitted that his side have endured 'a tough period.'

"After a 1-0 defeat at home, any criticism you get is understandable," Potter said.
"I think we’ve had a tough period and I think we’ve had lots of challenges in terms of integrating young players into the Premier League," he added.

Azpi delivers update

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Chelsea skipper Cezar Azpilicueta has broken silence for the first time since he suffered a worrying injury in the Premier League on Saturday.

Azpilicueta was part of the Blues' starting XI that took on bottom-placed Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Spaniard was unable to see out the rest of the match after he picked up a nasty injury.
