World football governing body (FIFA) have announced that there will be a trophy tour of the Women's World Cup to all 32 nations who will be participating in this year's tournament.

The 2023 World Cup will be taking place in Australia & New Zealand and FIFA chiefs want enough awareness for the tournament before the kickoff in 20th of July.

According to FIFA, the tour is going beyond to inspire people of all ages to get excited about the Women’s World Cup.

Interestingly, the tour will also hit Africa since the continent will be sending representatives to the tournament.

When is it going to Nigeria?

According to the information FIFA released on their site, the tour of the trophy will land in Nigeria on March 26.

But before then, it will be in Morocco on March 20 while the trophy will be in South Africa on 22-23 as Zambians will see it on 24.

Nigerian sports reporter, Dare Kuti, expressed happiness while speaking to Sports Brief about the latest development about the World Cup tour.

''This is a good development coming from FIFA and I am sure that Nigerians will be waiting to see the trophy most especially people in Lagos because I am sure that is where the trophy will be shown to us.''
