Arsenal fans have been thrown into confusion after Jose Mourinho was spotted watching the Gunners' Europa League game against Vitoria Guimaraes.

Mourinho, who is yet to land a new managerial role since his sacking at Man United back in December 2018 could be seen catching the mouthwatering clash from the executive box.
However, it remains unclear why the Portuguese was in attendance at the Emirates, sparking claims from a section of Arsenal fans who believe Mourinho could be interested in replacing Unai Emery.

One posted: "Mourinho was clearly at the Emirates for a reason. Why else would he waste his Thursday evening watching Europa League? He’s already working out what he can do to turn this team into winners, I love it, my manager."
A second noted: "After years of abusing Jose Mourinho, imagine if he becomes the Arsenal manager."

Emery has been under pressure this season at Arsenal with the Gunners chiefs reported to have given him a target to meet this term.
The Gunners have been registering a mixed run of results, with their 1-0 slim defeat to Sheffield United in their last league match denying them a chance to cement their top four place.

The side will be back in action on Sunday, October 27, when they are scheduled to take on Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium.
A win over the Eagles will see Arsenal narrow their gap with fourth-placed Chelsea to just two points.
Meanwhile, Mourinho was recently reported to have rejected an offer to join to French club Lyon with the believe that he has already made up his mind on the club he is keen to join.
