  • Mykhailo Mudryk seems to be on a different page to his new teammate Marc Cucurella
  • Despite playing on the same flank, the full-back repeatedly ignored the pacy winger
  • This comes at a time when Mudryk's social media activity insinuated that all was not well

Mykhailo Mudryk's arrival in the Premier League hasn't been without much hullabaloo.

For a player who is said to have preferred a move to Arsenal over Chelsea, he was bound to attract a lot of attention when he moved to Stamford Bridge instead.

Add the astronomical fee the Blues paid for him and you definitely know that every touch he is going to take in England was going to be heavily scrutinised.

His debut against Liverpool was decent to the point that he even reminded Chelsea fans of the days of Eden Hazard. His touches, burst of pace and dribbles instantly assured the Chelsea faithful that they had gotten a gem.

But in the game after that, the Ukrainian is yet to repeat similar standards.

One can argue there were other factors that were not his own doing. Against Fulham, he was withdrawn at half-time with Graham Potter confirming he had flu.

A week later at West Ham, he struggled to make an impact, with his on-pitch relationship with Marc Cucurella being looked at.

Cucurella ignores Mudryk

In a new (and likely damaging) video circulating on social media, Cucurella is repeatedly seen ignoring Mudryk as a pass option.

The full-back opts to pass the ball back rather than pass to his new teammate.

One of Mudryk's strengths is the ability to excel at one-on-ones. The fact that he wasn't presented with an opportunity to do so curtailed his efforts to impact the game like new signings, Joao Felix and Enzo Fernandez.

Cucurella and Mudryk were both withdrawn at the same time, much to the upset of Chelsea fans, who wanted to see a Ben Chilwell-Mudryk combination.

Mudryk's social media activities

Sports Brief also reported on Mudryk creating a buzz online with his social media activity, suggesting he did not like Cucurella's actions either.

Chelsea's new signing appeared to like an Instagram post criticising his teammate after their 1-1 disappointing draw against West Ham United.

The Blues endured a frustrating afternoon at the London Stadium and this would be an area Potter needs to address, with Chilwell easing back to fitness.
