As the continent comes to grips with the slaying of one of its finest ever hip-hop artists AKA, another great export to the world paid tribute to him.

Manchester United first-team coach Benni McCarthy expressed his sadness after the murder of Kiernan Forbes, aptly nicknamed AKA. He was shot dead in Durban, with his friend Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane also dying in the shocking attack.

McCarthy and Forbes had recently become friends, bonding over the Beautiful Game. It helped that AKA was a staunch Red Devils supporter, and had always expressed joy that a compatriot was now playing a big part in the club's resurgence under Erik Ten Hag.

AKA: Man Utd's most famous SA supporter

"Hy lekker, lekker vis and chips!" This is a line from the late, great AKA's super smash hit 'Fela In Versace'.

He took it from current Manchester United first-team coach Benni McCarthy's sensational collaboration 'Shibobo' with TKZee that took the world by storm in 1998 ahead of the FIFA World Cup in France.

The irony can't be lost on us all, as Kiernan Forbes was a staunch, until-I-die Red Devils supporter. He never missed the opportunity to show his love for the world's biggest sports team, taking the opportunity to profess his love for the club when the opportunity arose.

When AKA performed on SuperSport

AKA is gone but will never be forgotten. Kiernan Forbes was murdered on Friday in Durban in what many have concluded to be a hit.

Tributes for the slain rapper have come in from far and wide as the nation deals with his violent death. Memories of his past exploits have resurfaced as many a fan of his reminisces.

This includes two performances on the popular sports magazine show 'Thursday Night Live With Robert Marawa' that was originally on SuperSport.
