FootballGary Neville Finally Admits Arsenal Can Win the Premier League Title This Season
- Gary Neville has never rated Arsenal as genuine title contenders despite their incredible run of form
- The former defender has consistently rated reigning champions Manchester City as the favourites to win the crown
- Only five points are separating the two teams at the top of the standings, with Arsenal leading the log with 50 points
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has performed a U-turn on his Premier League title prediction this season.
Neville has often overlooked Arsenal when making his projection on who stands the best chance to clinch the title.
Despite Arsenal's impressive run of form, the legendary defender has always backed reigning champions Man City to retain the crown.
According to The Mirror, Neville was nearly vindicated last weekend after the Gunners, who are currently topping the standings, were humbled 1-0 by relegation-battlers Everton.

City had a chance to close the gap on their title rivals when they played Tottenham Hotspur, only for them to drop points with a 1-0 defeat.
Neville has now admitted that he believed Arsenal are genuine title contenders as soon as he saw City's team news against Tottenham.
Pep Guardiola stunned football fans and pundits after he benched Kevin De Bruyne during their trip to North London.
"Do you know something, we were at the City game on Sunday and when the team came through, I thought for the first time that Arsenal could win the league," Neville said on The Overlap.
"And that's not looking smart after the event because City had lost, but I just thought he [Guardiola] is messing around, he's tinkering far too much," he added.
Arsenal's impressive run
Arsenal have emerged as genuine title challengers this season after an incredible run of results under Mikel Arteta.

FootballThe north Londoners are currently enjoying a five-point lead at the top, with the campaign already past the half-way mark.
Arteta's charges have lost just two of their last 20 outings, with their last defeat in the Premier League before last weekend's coming at the hands of rivals Man United back in September 2022.
It now remains to be seen if they can maintain the momentum in their hunt for their first Premier League crown in close to 20 years.
